Shannon began her social work journey in 2016 as part of the FHSU Social Work BSW Cohort in Dodge City, graduating with her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from Fort Hays State University in 2019.
She then continued her education at The University of Kansas, Hays Cohort, where she earned her Master of Social Welfare (MSW) degree in May 2020. During her graduate studies, Shannon completed her practicum at Hope and Healing, where she gained invaluable experience in the field.
After graduation, Shannon continued to complete her clinical hours under the supervision of David Wade-Monarco, LSCSW, LCSW. In October 2024, she successfully received her Clinical License, further advancing her expertise in social work.
Shannon specializes in working with children and is dedicated to making therapy services more accessible for busy families. To accommodate parents' demanding work schedules, she offers sessions at schools in rural Kansas, including Spearville, Satanta, and Cimarron, bringing therapy directly to her clients in their communities.
Shannon is trained in several therapeutic approaches, including Lifespan Integration, Play Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These modalities allow her to provide tailored, effective support for children navigating a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges.
